Tasks

-Incident Investigation and Rehabilitation: Conduct investigations of accidents and incidents, advise on corrective actions, and manage project-related injury rehabilitation and return-to-work issues. -Compliance and Mentorship: Ensure adherence to Seymour Whyte policies, procedures, and compliance training, while mentoring site personnel to improve workplace health and safety. -Knowledge and Culture Leadership: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, industry standards, and technological innovations, and foster a transparent safety culture on site. -Risk Management and Advice: Identify safety management risks and opportunities, provide timely solutions, and offer relevant advice to project management on safety-related matters. -System Implementation and Inspections: Assist in the preparation, implementation, and maintenance of safety systems, plans, and procedures, and conduct site inspections/audits with feedback and recommendations.

What You Bring

-Qualifications and Certifications: Hold a minimum diploma in OHS, Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training, and various other relevant certifications such as Workplace Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator Certification, First Aid, and Emergency Response Training. -Leadership and Collaboration: Demonstrate leadership qualities, be a passionate safety champion, and work willingly with others in a collaborative manner. -Experience and Knowledge: Possess 7+ years of experience in a similar position in the Civil/Construction or relevant industry, with a high regard and understanding of safety principles. -Interpersonal Skills: Ability to develop a good rapport with site staff, management, client representatives, and auditors, and demonstrate a can-do positive attitude. -All successful applicants will be required to undergo a pre-employment. Medical and criminal history check. -Technical Skills: Have intermediate use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, along with knowledge of plant operations and various safety-related certifications.
