Tasks
You’ll be responsible for the conceptual and detailed design of electrical building systems — including power distribution, lighting, life safety, and communications — while coordinating closely with in-house architects, mechanical engineers, and construction managers. The successful candidate will act as Engineer of Record on a variety of projects ranging from moderate to high complexity. -Conduct field reviews, technical assessments, and building condition evaluations. -Identify and mitigate professional and contractual risks. -Manage site instructions, change orders, and responses to contractor RFIs. -Liaise with authorities having jurisdiction to resolve technical and regulatory issues. -Prepare and coordinate working drawings, specifications, and documentation with project teams. -Mentor and guide EITs and designers, supporting their technical growth. -Recommend improvements in design standards to enhance efficiency and maintainability. -Lead and oversee the design of electrical building systems for institutional, commercial, industrial, and residential projects.

What You Bring
Our client, a leading integrated design and construction firm, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Vancouver team. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys taking ownership of complex building projects and mentoring junior staff in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment. -Minimum 10 years of experience in building electrical design, including at least 3 years of North American experience. -P.Eng. designation required. -Broad project experience across institutional, commercial, industrial, retail, and residential sectors. -Strong technical knowledge in power distribution, lighting, life safety systems, and other building systems. -Experience with sustainable or environmental design considered an asset. -Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Canadian-accredited or equivalent). -Experience working in multi-disciplinary environments and managing BIM/Revit workflows. -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. -Advanced understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code, BC Building Code, and National Building Code.
