Senior Data Analyst

Overview

Lead data analytics, GIS, AI/ML, and ETL for Florida DOT asset management and traffic data.

Tasks

-Assist with outreach and training for data awareness, education, collaboration and program capacity building -Develop metadata and other documentation for federal reporting and state business needs -Provide on-site support to the Florida Department of Transportation Central Office -Enhance extract, transform and load (ETL) operations of roadway and traffic data -Maintain and enhance multimodal transportation asset management systems -Assist with quality assurance functions -Support the Department’s Digital Asset Management initiative -Provide project management, administrative, and technical support -Assist in preparation for and participate in public information meetings and hearings -Enhance data analytics for asset management and traffic monitoring -Prepare complex scripts or programs to automate functions within a desktop or web-based GIS environment -Enhance manual and/or automated workflows and processes for roadway asset feature extraction -Enhance integration of roadway asset data into GIS -Enhance artificial intelligence and machine learning processes utilizing aerial and/or street level imagery for roadway asset feature extraction -Assist with the development and maintenance of custom tools, GIS extensions and applications

What You Bring

-FME or other ETL tool experience -Strong math and organizational skills -SCADA /OT Systems: Cygnet, FlowCal, Enertia, Field Data Capture (FDC) tools -Oracle Spatial or SQL Server Spatial back-end data processing experience -Remote sensing and/or computer vision experience -Asset Management experience -Excellent writing and people skills -Experience leading multiple complex data science projects -In-depth knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistical models, and data analytics -Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook -ESRI ArcGIS desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online (AGOL) experience -A degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience -Experience leading and mentoring junior data scientists -A minimum of 5 years experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, Seaborn, and Matplotlib -Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and various managers in a fast-paced environment -Knowledge of NIST cybersecurity framework, MITRE ATT&CK, and data governance best practices. -A minimum of 5 years experience with data engineering tools and languages such as SQL, Power Query, and Pandas -Ability to handle confidential information -Relational database management experience -Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning experience -A minimum of 5 years experience with data science languages such as Python and R -Experience setting the strategic direction of data management, data science practices and technology planning -Excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling and telephone skills -Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional, ability to multitask a must
