Tasks

-Support the installation and commissioning both on site, and from the Marietta office -Engineering of non-standard mechanical interfaces -Project document control using a rights based database system -Perform system and component level calculations (Throughput, motor power, belt pull, reactive forces to building structure, etc) -Specify the mechanical equipment required, including both Vanderlande manufactured and third party purchased items -Perform spatial analysis of clearance envelopes, egress pathways and forklift vehicular aisles -Apply safety regulations and ergonomics -Travel to site as needed to conduct site surveys -Translate customer drawings and specifications into a fully functional mechanical system -Engineering of project specials needed for non-standard design applications -Document all engineering decisions through design plans, complete and clear installation files, and engineering instructions directed to a site supervisor and installation subcontractor -Create a motor manifest with respect to electrical and controls engineering requirements -3D modeling of systems and subsequent clash detection management -Optimize the functionality from as-sold to a working mechanical design within the budget in consultation with other disciplines (Electrical, Controls, Supply Chain, Installation, etc.)

-Ability to work well with and motivate team members -Ability to work in an entrepreneurial organization where cooperating with others and being a team member is natural -Strong communicator, able to effectively understand and set expectations for deliverables -Good interpersonal, verbal, and written skills -Ability to quickly assess a situation and take appropriate action -Strong team mentality and willingness to accept responsibility for project completion (Ownership Culture) -Must have the ability to properly prioritize work/activities -Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology with 0-2 years of relative work experience -Ability to use AutoDesk Suite of tools (Revit, Navisworks, Vault, BIM360, ACC, etc) -Possess a strong ability to solve problems and research solutions -Ability to use AutoCAD 2D & 3D -Ability to work autonomously or in a team -Or Associate’s ME/ET degree with 3-5 years relative work experience -Ability to think conceptually (overall system) and translate this into a detailed system design -Able to handle time sensitive situations and quickly set the right priorities, while maintaining a firm grasp of the details -Must be willing and able to travel domestically up to 50% with occasional international opportunities -Associated 2D customer approval and installation layout drawings
