Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for railway traction motors and gearboxes.

Tasks

-Develop robust designs suitable for railway application including shock, vibration and high temperatures -Perform FEA, thermal simulations, shock & vibrations to ensure structural integrity and thermal performance -Support new component development with local vendors -Support prototype development and validation testing -Work closely with electrical, site and vehicle integration teams to ensure seamless system performance -Design of mechanical components and assemblies for traction motors and gear boxes (Locomotive, EMU, Metro) -Participate in design reviews, first article inspections, supplier assessments, customer meetings, site issues to resolve technical topics -Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for high reliability and durability product -Ensure designs meet railways ISO, EN, IEC, IS standards -Perform tolerance stack-up analysis

What You Bring

-Should have relevant experience of a minimum of 3-8 years in mechanical design, preferably in traction or heavy-duty industrial applications -Should have a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering -Understanding of manufacturing processes used for manufacturing traction motors and gear boxes -Experience with traction systems for locomotives, EMUs, metro rail, etc. -Knowledge of gear design, bearing systems, lubrication and thermal management -Proficiency in CAD and simulation tools such as Siemens NX, Teamcenter, Ansys / NX Nastran, AutoCAD, SAP -Familiarity with railways standards and certification processes -Strong problem-solving and analytical skills -Good understanding of GD&T, casting and machining manufacturing drawings -Understanding of railway operational environments and lifecycle requirements -Effective communication and teamwork abilities
