Tasks

-Manage project timelines and sourcing activities to ensure on-time completion and alignment with business needs. -Apply change management and project management principles to ensure successful implementation of sourcing strategies. -Negotiate competitive contracts and agreements that support Valmont’s financial and operational goals. -Identify and mitigate category, contract, and supply risks; monitor supplier compliance and performance to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost outcomes. -Support supplier optimization (consolidation, dual sourcing, rationalization) and continuous improvement initiatives. -Lead sourcing for IT services and hardware, including large-scale enterprise software (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, IFS), infrastructure, and reseller management. -Provide issue resolution between Valmont and suppliers and lead special projects as assigned. -Implement sourcing strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance, drive adoption, and achieve cost and productivity goals. -Build collaborative relationships and trust across internal teams to support cross-functional initiatives and communicate sourcing strategies and results.

What You Bring

-Strong analytical, financial, and negotiation skills with demonstrated project management expertise. -Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive supplier performance improvements. -Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams. -English fluency required; additional languages a plus. -Requires up to 20% travel within North America, including overnight stays. -Master’s degree -Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to build credibility with business partners and suppliers. -Proven ability to manage complex negotiations and large initiatives, providing insights on sourcing strategies (onshore vs. offshore). -Strong understanding of IT hardware, software, infrastructure, networking, and cloud services. -CPM or APICS certification or equivalent training. -Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years or 10+ years of relevant experience. -Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (JDE, QAD, SAGE, IFS, QuickBooks, SAP, etc.).
