Tasks

The Estimator is responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings to ensure that Key has all the required information to successfully bid and win a project while leading the estimating team. -Consult with clients, vendors, project managers, owners, architects and/or engineers to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues -Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors and subcontractors -Prepare estimates used by management for planning, organizing and scheduling work -Analyzing different quotes from Sub-contractors and suppliers -Access cost effectiveness of products or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as project develops -Confer with engineers, architects and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to estimates -Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials and labor estimates -Award contracts based on not only cost, but quality of work

What You Bring

Due to our growth, Key Construction has a need for an Estimator to join our DFW team. -High level of proficiency of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) -At least 5 years of experience as an Estimator for a Commercial General Contractor is required -Ability to initiate and drive process improvements -Relevant Project Coordination in the construction industry -Experience with sub solicitation is preferred -Ability to manage rapidly and frequently changing priorities -Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills -Must be able to work in an open office environment -Ability to communication and interact effectively with all levels of management -Experience with On-Screen or other take-off software is required -Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within tight deadlines -Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial information -Experience with Quantity Survey Method is preferred
