Jacobs

The Role

Overview

Design water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and related mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • design implementation
  • rotating equipment
  • process treatment

Tasks

-Design implementation of rotating equipment and process treatment equipment

Requirements

  • hydraulic modeling
  • p&id
  • pe license
  • mechanical engineering
  • design‑build
  • 8 years

What You Bring

-Hydraulic Modeling experience -Experience designing piping systems, valves, and appurtenances for water and wastewater treatment plant process piping (ductile iron, steel, PVC, HDPE, copper, etc.) -Design experience developing plans and specifications -Detailed mechanical design experience for water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems -Experience developing P&ID’s in coordination with process control engineers -Professional Engineer (P.E.) License -Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree -Experience with Design-Build, CMAR/CM-GC and/or EPC projects -At least 8 years of experience in water/wastewater process mechanical engineering for municipal or industrial clients. We recognize that many of the skills we need are also developed in adjacent industries such as food & beverage (CIP systems, sanitary piping, thermal processes), brewing (pumps, valves, tanks, piping networks), mining (slurry pumps, dewatering, material separation), chemical processing (pumps, valves, piping, tanks). Engineers from these sectors who have worked on process equipment integration, fluid handling systems, and mechanical utilities and infrastructure are encouraged to apply.

The Company

About Jacobs

-Headquartered in Dallas, it has evolved into a global powerhouse delivering consulting, technical, scientific and project delivery services. -Its portfolio spans transformative projects—clean water systems, data centers, rail expansions, offshore wind roadmaps, and wastewater plants. -Specialising in advanced manufacturing, cities & places, energy, environmental, national security & defense, life sciences, transportation and water sectors. -Jacobs has reshaped itself via key moves—spinning off government services, acquiring CH2M in 2017, and exiting traditional oil & gas units. -Projects often tackle high-stakes, complex challenges: wastewater treatment in Vancouver, LIRR station upgrades, and AI data centres in Portugal. -Unusually, the firm shifted its HQ from California to Dallas in 2016 to align with its expanding national and global reach.
