The Role

Overview

Install and service fire alarm, LV, and commercial electrical systems for clients.

Tasks

-Install commercial & industrial 3-phase electrical power systems. -Install fire alarm, voice/data, and security. -Install and run wires, wire devices, fish walls, and doors. -Troubleshoot circuit opens, shorts, or ground conditions. -Comply with standards and procedures of industry and Sciens safety programs/policies. -Complete paperwork, including but not limited to timesheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation. Keeps as-built drawings current. -Install all types of electrical conduit.

What You Bring

-Intermediate knowledge of NFPA 70 and NFPA 72 installation requirements. -Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency. -Able to read blueprints, technical drawings, and diagrams and follow specifications. -High school diploma or equivalent. -State and locally required minimum certifications. -Experience in termination of field devices. -1 to 3 years’ experience as a Fire Alarm/LV Installer. -Be physically fit to perform the demanding work of the trade, including frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds, maximum occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; able to work from heights and climb ladders; standing and walking for most of the workday. -Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation. -Ability to travel occasionally overnight, as needed. -Ability to work independently with some supervision. -Good organizational, decision-making, and communication skills -Solid working knowledge of commercial electrical systems.
