The Role

Overview

Plan, install, maintain and support LV/HV electrical systems and projects

Tasks

-Carry out mechanical modifications and repairs. -Installation, refurbishment, maintenance of LV/HV equipment -Complete assessment and completion reports. -Assist in the management job costing, material specifications and logistics. -Carry out electrical testing and fault finding. -Attend training and continuous development opportunities as required for the role and business needs. -Facilitate a safe working environment during high / low voltage working. -Assess safety and apply controls and safety measures required. -Plan outages, produce switching programmes and other safety paperwork for HV/ LV switching activities. -Interpret electrical drawings and records. -Maintain all authorisations in accordance with legislative our safety procedures and industry best practice. -Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of Lucy Electric and its customers. -Liaise closely with team to understand and manage priorities. -Completing RAMS, job packs, test certificates and reports. -Schedule and coordinate site work with a range of engineers, sub-contractors, and utilities companies. -Lead the delivery of a range of projects covering a range of activities from construction projects, LV/HV asset maintenance, repairs, upgrades, to Lucy Product support. -Mentoring of trainees. -Issue, monitor and manage, Safety Documents in relation to the relevant safe rules.

What You Bring

-Good knowledge of Distribution Safety rules and their application. -Certified in electricity at work and experience of delivering efficient and effective services to customers whether on site or at a planning stage from an office environment. -Good problem-solving skills. -Training - first aid, IPAF, PASMA, SMSTS -Willingness to attend call outs. -Maintain Authorised Person competence. (Min LV Switching) -Must have a positive and confident approach to tasks. -Highly organised and tidy. -HV Switching -Good knowledge of H&S and its practical implications. -PASMA, IPAF, SMSTS -Computer literate – skilled in MS office -Technically qualified with a BTEC, C&G or equivalent apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering -Full driver’s License, willingness to travel within the UK as required, and work weekends as overtime or with a day off in the week. -Able to work independently, within/ or leading a team. -Valid authorisations – Private Networks, UKPN, WPD or other DNO -Good interpersonal skills with a pleasant and can-do attitude. -Proven track record of experience in the Electrical and/or distribution Industry. -Holds AP Authorisation – SSEN, UKPN, Private Networks -18th edition / 2391 inspection & testing
