Material Engineer Technician Internship

Overview

Intern assisting with material testing, sampling, data entry, and equipment maintenance.

Tasks

-Analyze test outcomes and assist in making necessary process control adjustments. -Execute standard mathematical computations in line with testing procedures. -Be involved in innovative, cool projects throughout the local area and the state. -Engage professionally with both internal and external stakeholders. -Record all test data post-testing in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and maintain organized hard copies of records. -Document all sampling, testing, and subsequent actions taken. -Uphold a professional standard of cleanliness and maintenance for all equipment, facilities, and vehicles. -Accurately communicate and document test results to relevant internal and external stakeholders. -Ensure equipment functionality and timely calibrations as per schedule. -Oversee regular equipment maintenance and ensure malfunctioning equipment is marked out of service. -Conduct sampling and standardized testing of construction materials as per agency or organizational guidelines. -Strictly adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all tasks.

-Currently enrolled in a University or Tech school. -Be capable of performing mathematical calculations required for necessary daily job duties. -The ability to frequently lift 50+ pounds. -Have the ability to work varied hours with a flexible schedule. -Enjoy working in an outdoor environment. -Strong interpersonal, organization and communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment. -Must be punctual and dependable. -Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record. -The ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously; and the ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision, must be a self-starter.
