Tasks

This position is responsible for providing leadership and management/technical oversight to the team of engineers designing and developing plant layout, piping arrangements, and system processes. This role manages a team of engineers of various disciplines that direct the technical requirements and configuration of the layout, piping arrangements, and system processes of the plant through all project life cycle phases. -Supports the Business Development workgroup providing technical resources when needed and engaging with potential future clients to promote marketing of the X-energy products and/or technologies. -Manages the execution of the designing and developing plant mechanical systems using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. -Manages the utilization of engineering resources across multiple projects and ensures qualified engineers are performing assigned work. -Assesses quality of information given and asks pertinent questions to stakeholders. -Ensure work is performed in accordance with design control procedures, ensuring thorough documentation of work, and control of product design configuration data. -Manages engineering staff by ensuring staff are meeting expectations and promoting staff professional development. -Oversee project design cycle sprints to ensure the convergence of efforts of engineering team members, partners, and suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality engineering work products are on schedule as defined by the Project leadership. -Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication. -Influences the development of strategy, methodology and technical tools for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and policy formulation. -Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, tools, or services. -Manages the identification and mitigation of design conflicts using 3D software. -Work within a multidisciplinary engineering team to create the next generation nuclear power plants. -Offers new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and can construct and provide recommendations.

E-Verify Participation Link: E-Verify Participation Poster English and Spanish Travel Expectations: 10% (as needed for project assignment) Work Site Expectations: 4-5 days in office -Experience in consulting design work for EPC projects or other large-scale projects (Preferred). -Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or systems engineering or related discipline from an accredited university or college. -Requires specialized knowledge within the function of mechanical engineering, related to system requirements, system physical architecture, integrated system design, technical data management, and technical risk management. -Experience with ThermoFluid systems for commercial nuclear power plants (Preferred). -Uses high level of judgement to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operations, project management, technology, or engineering. -Typically, ten years of engineering experience. Graduate degrees typically count as two plus years of experience.

Benefits

$160,000- $240,000 As required by Maryland and other applicable state law, X Energy, LLC (X-energy) lists the expected compensation range for a publicly advertised job opportunity based upon the job requirements (e.g. education/training, experience, skill sets, etc.). Individual candidates who meet the job requirements for the posted position will be offered a salary within this range based on their respective levels of education/training, experience, and other qualifications unique to them.
