Providing total customer support is a significant focus regardless of any internal business structures. Project management including negotiation with suppliers, coordination of design, procurement of materials, coordination of inter-department resources and project administration requirements. Managing project costs and ensuring successful completion of all projects.
This will include preparing tender submissions to client’s specifications and deadlines and could involve work interstate and overseas. The company will allocate resources where they are best used for the overall company benefit.
Complete safety and engineering audits of refrigeration systems on site to various requirements. This will include compiling client reports
Co-operating with GBI management or other persons as far as is necessary to enable compliance with any requirement under Health and Safety legislation that are imposed in the interests of health, safety and welfare on the employer or any other person
Act as liaison between the customer and Johnson Controls by building a long-term working relationship
Assist with delivering of training for internal and external technical people where appropriate including graduate engineers
Drafting as required for small projects and manufacturing using AutoCAD, Solid Works and hand sketches
Completing various administrative duties associated with engineering and project management operations
Complete detailed engineering calculations and design for the development of refrigeration solutions
Supervise and assist with commissioning new plants as appropriate
Marketing of all services provided by GBI to our customers including consulting services, contract works, maintenance and parts supply
Effective handling of project reviews and handling by conducting FAT (Factory Acceptance test), SAT (Site Acceptance Test)
Preparing risk assessments for all aspects of our equipment and project work. The company has a health and safety system for safe work.
Setting up and maintaining a standard library of the above
Evaluating existing refrigeration plants and assisting our clients to modify the system to meet their requirements
Standardizing of the deliverables including software, points list, documentation etc.
Ensuring company and subcontractor compliance with these systems is considered essential and must be completed in a timely manner
Keep up to date with the technical aspects of the job and be willing to undertake training from time to time as required
Contribute to the continuous development of internal systems to streamline engineering and project management functions.
Assisting the service department with engineering and small contracting support
Taking reasonable care for the health and safety of self and persons at the workplace and those who may be affected by the employee’s acts or omissions at work

Experience in process engineering design
An Engineering Qualification with Industrial Experience
Experience in project management of mechanical, electrical or process projects delivering complex documentation and deliverable
Ability to work within a team environment
Knowledge of applicable Australian & International Standards to our industry and ensure compliance for our equipment and project work
A strong background in Engineering design and or project delivery for Mechanical Electrical or process equipment, ideally working with refrigeration or compression in heavy industry
Experience in heavy industry such as petrochemical or oil and gas/compression or other similar
Competent computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Project, Visio and AutoCAD skills would be an advantage to the applicant
Excellent skills in designing and developing industrial refrigeration, compression projects or rotating equipment
Exceptional time management and communication skills
Be able to understand and interpret the design intent around qualified specification and drawings
