Overview

Install, maintain, and repair telecom network equipment (fibre, copper, wireless) in Nelson.

Tasks

-Use specialised testing equipment (e.g., OTDR, Light Source/Power Meter, VFL) to test network performance and integrity -Perform routine network inspections and preventative maintenance -Diagnose, locate, and repair network faults efficiently to minimise service disruption -Install, configure, and maintain fibre optic, copper, and wireless telecommunications network equipment and cabling

What You Bring

-Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail -NZQA Level 3 Telecommunications Certificate or equivalent preferred -Current Class 1 Drivers Licence -Practical knowledge of fibre splicing, termination, and testing -Familiarity with working in a safety-critical environment and a strong commitment to safe work practices -Effective communication skills and a customer-focused attitude -Proven hands-on experience as a Telecommunications Technician or a similar field role (minimum 3 years)
