Tasks

-Stay up-to-date with changes in safety regulations and industry best practices, incorporating them into company policies and procedures -Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety management plans in accordance with local regulations and company standards -Review and approve Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Job Safety Risk Assessments (JSRA) submitted by contractors -Provide technical guidance and support to ensure compliance with safety requirements at project sites -Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees and contractors, ensuring a high level of safety awareness across the organization -Maintain accurate safety records and prepare detailed reports on safety performance, including lead and lag indicators -Coordinate emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness for potential incidents -Investigate incidents and near-misses, utilizing root cause analysis techniques to prevent future occurrences -Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement -Collaborate with management, employees, and external stakeholders to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions

What You Bring

-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written -First aid and emergency response training certification -Familiarity with international safety standards, such as ISO 45001 -Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field -Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) -Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) or other MOM-recognized qualifications -In-depth knowledge of local WSH regulations, Codes of Practice, and risk management frameworks -Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office suite -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail -Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required -Willingness to accept a 12 months contract -Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and influence stakeholders at all levels -Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or related industries
