About the Role

Daily duties involve moving, loading, and unloading various materials from bins, pallets, and vehicles, often using manual or mechanical aids. The worker opens containers, stocks shelves, secures loads with cranes or hoists, and follows production schedules or work orders to locate and handle items. Additionally, the role includes labeling, bundling, and preparing shipments, while keeping precise records of material movements. • Store, remove, load and unload all types of materials from storage bins, pallets, trays, racks, and vehicles not handled by material handling devices. • Open containers using steel cutters, crowbars, claw hammers, or other hand tools. • Operate manual or mechanical devices and stock inventory shelves. • Secure lifting attachments to materials and convey loads to destination using hand‑operated cranes or hoists, or signal crane operators. • Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, or shipping orders and follow oral instructions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. • Assort and place materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, or color. • Count, weigh, and record the number of units moved or handled on the daily production sheet. • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials and mark information on cases, bales, or other containers. • Move materials and supplies from the warehouse and prepare them for delivery. • Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or stock items. • Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band bundles together using a banding machine and clincher. • Clamp sections of portable conveyor together or place conveyor sections on blocks or boxes to facilitate movement of materials or products. • Lift objects by hand or using a power hoist, and clean work areas, machines, and equipment with broom, rags, and cleaning compounds to assist machine operators. • Make simple adjustments or repairs, such as realigning belts or replacing rollers, using hand tools. • Assemble crates to contain products such as machines or vehicles using hand tools and precut lumber. • Shovel loose materials such as sand, gravel, metals, plastics, or chemicals into machine hoppers, vehicles, or containers like wheelbars, scrap trucks, or barrels. • Record material items received or distributed. • Maintain inventory records as needed. • Perform routine housekeeping tasks to maintain the work area. • Follow all hazardous waste handling guidelines. • Observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment. • Plan work and select proper tools. • Compare and detect differences in size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects. • Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings. • Make decisions based on measurable criteria. • Report unsafe conditions and practices.

What You Bring

The position requires familiarity with a range of tools and consumables, as well as the capability to distribute and receive tools and welding wire. Candidates should possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent and have prior experience in a similar field. The job relies on adherence to established guidelines, with supervision provided, and does not require independent judgment. Required competencies include working to exact standards, selecting appropriate tools, comparing dimensions, visualizing three‑dimensional objects from plans, and making decisions based on measurable criteria. The work demands physical stamina, including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lb, and occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, and reaching. Employees must follow hazardous‑waste handling procedures and wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
