About the Role
As a Controls Systems Technician at Johnson Controls, you will be responsible for commissioning assigned HVAC systems using the company’s configuration and commissioning tools. The role involves applying technical skills to ensure that system hardware and software operate correctly within building environments. Typical duties include loading controller software, performing system‑level diagnostics, and troubleshooting basic mechanical, electrical, and control problems. You will also calibrate equipment with electronic test tools, complete required commissioning paperwork, and update as‑built documentation. Throughout each project you will keep management, contractors, and customers informed of progress and any issues that arise. Adherence to safety standards and participation in required safety training are essential components of the position. • Perform system commissioning using Johnson Controls tools. • Troubleshoot basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control issues. • Load controller software and run diagnostics on controllers and field devices. • Calibrate systems with electronic test equipment and complete documentation. • Communicate job progress and issues to management, contractors, and customers. • Follow safety standards and complete required safety training.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate possesses solid computer abilities, familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Visio, and the capability to use hand and power tools. Two years of experience installing electronic or mechanical systems, a basic understanding of HVAC mechanics, and strong attention to detail and communication skills are required; low‑voltage wiring knowledge is preferred and may require licensing depending on location. • Demonstrate basic computer skills; proficient with Excel and Visio. • Use hand and power tools; low‑voltage wiring knowledge preferred. • Maintain attention to detail and strong communication/listening abilities. • Have at least two years of experience installing electronic or mechanical systems.
