About the Role
• Provide technical expertise for communications network assets (fibre, WDM, SDH/PDH, MPLS‑TP, tele‑protection, telephony, radio, microwave, LAN). • Advise on asset‑management strategies, equipment performance specifications and development of standards. • Support implementation of asset‑replacement initiatives and long‑term reliability and resilience plans. • Assess condition of installed communications assets and produce analytical reports on equipment failures.

What You Bring
In this position you will apply your knowledge of fibre cables, WDM, SDH/PDH, MPLS‑TP, tele‑protection, telephony, radio, microwave and LAN engineering to support asset‑management strategies, equipment standards, reliability initiatives and regulatory submissions, as well as assess asset condition and investigate equipment failures. The ideal candidate holds a relevant communications engineering qualification, has proven experience in communications engineering and a solid understanding of asset‑management best practices, regulatory frameworks and utility‑industry technologies. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work across cross‑functional teams and national engineering registration are also required. • Hold a tertiary qualification in communications engineering or equivalent. • Demonstrated experience in communications engineering within a regulated utility environment. • Knowledge of asset‑management frameworks, relevant standards and regulatory legislation. • Ability to develop and execute strategic asset‑management plans. • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills; national engineering registration.
