About the Role

The Principal Drainage Engineer will lead drainage design for civil and transport infrastructure, conduct detailed hydrological and hydraulic analysis, and provide technical expertise for stormwater quality systems and major transverse drainage structures. The position also emphasizes a digital work environment, BIM coordination, hydrologic modeling, calculations, report writing, design reviews, and supervision of junior engineers while building strong client relationships and obtaining design approvals. • Design civil and transport infrastructure drainage systems. • Perform detailed analysis and review of hydrological and hydraulic models. • Provide technical expertise for stormwater quality systems and major transverse drainage structures. • Promote a digital work environment and coordinate BIM/3‑D modeling efforts. • Conduct hydrologic modeling, calculations, drawings, report writing, and design reviews. • Supervise, mentor, and support intermediate and junior engineers. • Lead projects, build client relationships, and obtain design approvals. • Coordinate with CAD/BIM/3‑D modeling teams on project deliverables.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil, hydraulic, hydrology, water or environmental engineering and have at least 12 years of water engineering experience, including stormwater drainage design for civil and transport projects. A strong grasp of hydrology and hydraulics, proficiency with modeling software such as SWMM, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, Infoworks ICM, and expertise in GIS and CAD tools are required, as well as knowledge of Water Sensitive Design and Sustainable Drainage Design. Chartered Engineer (CEng) qualification or progress toward it, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams are essential.
