Senior ITS Traffic Engineer Project Manager

The role leverages expertise in traffic design standards, intelligent transportation systems, traffic operations studies, and safety studies, applying traffic operations principles from ITE, MUTCD, AASHTO, and state DOT guidelines. Candidates must possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to collaborate effectively in groups or work independently, with experience in traffic signal field operations and implementation. The position requires at least seven years of transportation or traffic engineering experience after graduation, a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related accredited program, and a U.S. driver’s license; professional licensure and advanced degrees are preferred. • 7+ years of transportation or traffic engineering experience post‑graduation • B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field; PE, Master's, PTOE preferred • Experience with TDOT design standards, ITS, traffic operations and safety studies • Proficiency in traffic analysis tools (VISSIM, CORSIM, Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS) • Familiarity with MicroStation, ArcGIS, Synchro and Microsoft Office suite • Knowledge of ITE, MUTCD, AASHTO, Nashville and Tennessee DOT guidelines • Strong verbal and written communication; effective teamwork and independent work • Valid U.S. driver’s license; Tennessee residency or project experience preferred
