About the Role

Key duties include reading machining instructions, routings, control plans, job orders and blueprints to determine dimensions, sequences, and tooling requirements. The operator selects appropriate tools and materials, sets up and adjusts both basic and specialized machine tools, and performs fine‑tuning through sample cuts while optimizing CNC programs for tool durability and collision avoidance. The operator also measures finished work pieces with calipers, micrometers and gauges to verify conformance, and stops machines to change tooling or work‑piece placement as needed. • Operate CNC HELLER machining centers with Siemens 840 D controllers according to routing and control plans • Study blueprints and job orders to determine dimensions, sequences, and tooling requirements • Select, set up, and adjust appropriate tools and materials for engine component production • Perform sample cuts, fine‑tune equipment, and optimize CNC programs for tool durability and collision avoidance • Measure finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and templates to ensure specification compliance • Conduct routine maintenance under Total Productive Maintenance guidelines and address machine vibrations or dull tools • Identify and eliminate non‑value‑added work and support special projects across production areas • Apply OSHA safety standards, maintain a clean work area, and promote compliance with the Rolls‑Royce Code of Conduct

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least two years of mechanical, maintenance or machining trade education (or an associate degree) or three years of heavy‑duty machining experience, and be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Preferred qualifications include intermediate knowledge of Siemens 840 D CNC controls, strong arithmetic and statistical skills, ability to interpret SPC data, basic OSHA safety understanding, and experience interpreting blueprints and performing troubleshooting. Flexibility to work any shift, overtime, and possess relevant hoist or power‑vehicle licenses is also required. The position is performed in a durable‑goods manufacturing environment with frequent standing, walking, and manual handling of components up to 25 lb (occasionally 50 lb). The role demands good close, distance, peripheral and depth vision, and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
