About the Role

• Will serve as main point of contact for regulatory agencies. • Develop permitting strategies and schedules, participate in public meetings, negotiate with regulatory agencies, coordinate field work, direct and support other technical staff, interact in the field with clients, stakeholders and contractors, and manage budgets and invoicing. • Development of agency consultation packages and coordination with local and regional agencies. • Preparation of documents associated with, and participation in the processes of New York State Article VII and Part 102, DEC Freshwater Wetlands Program, and USACE federal permitting. Similar experience with New York’s Article 10 and Section 94-c permitting and FERC is a plus. • Preparation of permit applications, environmental documentation, Environmental Management and Construction Plans (EM&CPs), Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) documentation, and field data reports. • Preparation of environmental permits at the federal, state, and local levels. • Review of environmental and municipal regulations to identify compliance requirements. • Preparation of clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondence, and other written materials. • Abide by Company policies and procedures.

What You Bring

• The candidate must have a strong ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. • Ability to maintain a positive attitude working under aggressive schedules. • Experience with SEQRA Permitting, New York State DEC Freshwater Wetlands Program, Federal Clean Water Act and FERC Certificates is also highly desirable. • Experience managing transmission line projects under New York State Article VII and Part 102 is required. Additional experience working on projects under New York State Article 10 and Section 94-c is a plus. • Excellent verbal communication and technical communication skills are mandatory. • Knowledge of and ability to apply environmental compliance and permitting regulations of applicable regulatory agencies, including New York Public Service Commission, NYSDEC, EPA, USACE, and FERC. • Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resources, biology, ecology, or related field, and 5 to 10 years of post-degree environmental permitting experience in New York.
