Maintenance Technician I

About the Role
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving residential homes within a military housing community, ensuring safe and reliable housing for active‑duty service members and their families. Technicians troubleshoot issues independently and complete repairs while adhering to safety, quality, and military installation standards. Work is performed inside occupied residential homes and outdoor community areas, exposing technicians to noise, dust, tools, equipment, and varying weather conditions. The role requires standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 lb, and the use of required personal protective equipment. • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, and building systems • Diagnose equipment issues and determine repair solutions • Respond promptly to service requests and emergency maintenance calls • Conduct move‑in, move‑out, and routine home inspections • Maintain accurate work orders, maintenance records, and inventory in company systems • Follow OSHA safety protocols and military installation regulations • Communicate effectively with residents, supervisors, and team members • Assist with special projects, renovations, and community improvements

What You Bring
• High school diploma or GED required • Minimum 1 year residential or facilities maintenance experience • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance • Ability to read technical manuals and work orders; valid driver’s license • Ability to lift up to 50 lb and work in standing, kneeling, and climbing positions • Preferred: HVAC, electrical, or maintenance certifications; CMMS experience; experience on military installations; EPA Universal Certification • Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and customer service skills
