About the Role
The Heavy Equipment Operator safely operates various light and heavy equipment in a hazardous waste treatment processing facility or landfill. Responsibilities include assisting in off‑loading trucks, unloading and stabilizing waste, processing treated materials, sampling post‑treated items for laboratory testing, and loading cleared materials for shipment. The role also involves routine preventative maintenance of equipment and general housekeeping duties.

What You Bring
Candidates should have at least two years of related experience and current 40‑hour HAZWOPER training—or be able to complete it upon hire. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation, proficiency with hand and power tools, and basic vehicle inspection skills such as checking tire pressure and fluid levels. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, and a valid driver’s license may be required for some locations. This is a travel position with a pay range of $25.35 to $34.87, varying by locality.
