About the Role
The role will lead digital product research for building‑energy and asset‑optimization software, working transversely across two closely related digital energy teams. It involves providing research best practices, mentoring designers, product managers, and innovation experts, and surfacing opportunities for strategic alignment. Candidates should be comfortable with both exploratory methods—defining protocols for interviews, surveys, co‑creation sessions, and contextual inquiries—and evaluative methods such as usability studies and progressive concept testing. • Lead digital product research for building‑energy and asset‑optimization software. • Provide research best practices and mentorship across two digital energy teams. • Conduct exploratory research (interviews, surveys, co‑creation, contextual inquiries). • Run evaluative studies, including usability testing and progressive concept evaluations. • Create research artifacts such as protocols, discussion guides, journey maps, storyboards, personas, and concept diagrams. • Translate findings into actionable insights and recommendations that drive product and business success. • Apply user‑centered design methods, facilitate workshops, and guide cross‑functional teams. • Advocate for design culture, promote Schneider’s digital ecosystem, and unify user experience. • Employ systems thinking to understand problem spaces and incorporate diverse inputs. • Leverage qualitative and quantitative data to inform decisions and embed data collection in experiences.

What You Bring
Schneider Electric is seeking a design professional with expertise in user experience research and strategy to join the global design organization’s digital design team for industrial products. The fast‑growing team aims to oversee digital design across the company, infuse a design culture, and scale efforts through systems and collaboration, creating consistent, enjoyable experiences that support sustainability and decarbonization goals. Candidates must present work artifacts that include research protocols, discussion guides, journey maps, storyboards, personas, and concept diagrams. These deliverables should clarify the problem space, generate actionable insights, and directly contribute to product and business success. • Minimum 7 + years of design research experience; Bachelor’s in design, HCI, fine arts, or equivalent. • Strong portfolio demonstrating user‑centered design, systems thinking, storytelling, and research deliverables. • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills; fluent English; willingness to travel 10‑20 %. • Preferred: Master’s degree, B2B/B2C software experience, enterprise design systems, Figjam/Dovetail/Maze tools, and French language proficiency.

Benefits
The position is based in the United States with a compensation range of $128,000 – $147,000 per year, encompassing base pay and short‑term incentive. Salary within this range is determined by performance, knowledge, skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
