About the Role
Throughout the role the junior engineer will receive on‑the‑job mentoring, internal training and exposure to BMS and control systems, developing a solid understanding of commissioning processes, standards and best practices. They will communicate clearly with internal teams and external stakeholders, representing Facility Performance Consulting professionally on site and collaborating as part of a project delivery team. The position also emphasizes adherence to quality, safety and continuous‑improvement procedures, capturing lessons learned to enhance energy performance and reliability across projects. • Support senior engineers and project managers on active commissioning projects. • Assist with commissioning of mechanical (HVAC, air/water, public health) or electrical (lighting, emergency power, distribution, life safety) systems. • Perform site visits, inspections, equipment start‑up witnessing, pre‑functional and functional testing. • Prepare and organize commissioning documentation such as checklists, test scripts, inspection reports, and final handover manuals. • Develop knowledge of commissioning processes, standards, drawings, BMS and controls through training and mentoring. • Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients, representing FPC professionally on‑site. • Follow company quality, safety and continuous‑improvement procedures, capturing lessons learned.

What You Bring
We are looking for a Junior Building Services Commissioning Engineer with a mechanical or electrical bias to support commissioning services on building projects. This early‑career role offers hands‑on experience from design review through construction and handover, exposing the engineer to HVAC, electrical, controls and life‑safety systems. The successful candidate will work alongside senior commissioning professionals, gaining practical expertise while contributing to project delivery. • Hold an OND/HND/Degree (or in progress) in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; 2–5 years relevant experience. • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, proactive attitude, and ability to manage multiple tasks. • Proficient with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; based in or around London.
