About the Role

The incumbent will safely execute and supervise LV and HV electrical commissioning activities on offshore wind turbines, ensuring that systems are installed, tested, and energized according to design documentation, method statements, and applicable standards. This hands‑on leadership position requires strong technical judgment, disciplined safety adherence, and effective coordination of offshore teams. Key duties include leading offshore teams through installation, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, maintenance, and fault rectification of power converters, transformers, HV/LV switchgear, circuit breakers and protection systems. The role involves interpreting schematics and technical specifications, supporting senior engineers during energisation and functional testing, and maintaining accurate commissioning documentation and non‑conformance reports. Safety and team leadership are central: as an Authorised Technician the individual will perform electrical isolations, switching, and risk assessments, conduct toolbox talks, and mentor Competent and Authorised Technicians to uphold safe work standards. Continuous improvement is driven through lessons learned and procedural feedback. • Lead offshore LV/HV electrical commissioning teams for installation, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, maintenance, and fault rectification. • Execute and supervise commissioning activities in accordance with approved method statements, risk assessments, and procedures. • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single‑line diagrams, and technical specifications to ensure correct system configuration. • Support senior engineers during energisation, functional testing, and handover activities. • Complete commissioning documentation, test records, and non‑conformance reports accurately. • Diagnose LV and HV electrical faults using test and diagnostic equipment and lead root‑cause analysis. • Coordinate with engineering and technical support teams to resolve complex issues and implement corrective actions. • Act as an Authorised Technician, performing electrical isolations, switching, and ensuring compliance with safety rules. • Conduct task‑specific risk assessments and lead toolbox talks for offshore work. • Supervise and mentor Competent and Authorised Technicians, promoting safe work practices and consistent technical standards. • Promote continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and providing procedural feedback. • Maintain strong understanding of protection systems, electrical safety rules, and commissioning methodologies. • Apply extensive hands‑on experience with electrical testing, measurement, and diagnostic equipment.
