About the Role

The Carpenter Helper works under direct supervision to support skilled carpenters and foremen in the design, construction, erection, installation, and repair of wood, plywood, and wallboard structures. The role requires a general understanding of carpentry techniques and the safe use of hand and power tools in plant or construction settings. Key duties include assisting with material layout, lifting, positioning, securing, and cutting during installations, maintaining clean work areas and equipment, ensuring that necessary materials are stocked, and providing support to other craft workers as needed. • Assist the carpenter with layout, lifting, positioning, securing, and cutting of materials. • Clean work areas, machines, and equipment after use. • Keep the work area stocked with necessary materials. • Provide support to other craft workers as needed. • Operate hand and power tools (electric, gas, pneumatic) with proper training. • Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood frameworks, ladders, and scaffolds. • Work in varied environments, including uneven surfaces, adverse weather, and confined spaces. • Communicate effectively with supervisors and maintain attention to detail.
