About the Role

The Assistant Superintendent reports to the Superintendent and General Superintendent and supports daily on‑site management of construction activities in Fairfield County, CT. This full‑time, exempt position within Field Operations involves overseeing safety, budget, schedule, and quality for both self‑perform and subcontractor work, while assisting with reporting, safety walks, quantity reports, and schedule updates. The role also includes interfacing with clients, architects, contractors, and building officials, and participating in business development and training to develop skills toward a future Superintendent role. • Administer project safety program to maintain a safe, healthy work environment. • Provide technical assistance and interpret contract drawings and submittals. • Manage self‑perform and subcontractor operations, overseeing safety, budget, schedule, and quality. • Assist with daily reports, safety walks, weekly quantity reports, and schedule updates. • Review project schedule, critical path, and develop short‑term plans. • Participate in quality program by attending meetings, performing inspections, and verifying materials. • Interface professionally with client representatives, architects/engineers, other contractors, and building officials. • Support business development by creating client relationships and generating leads for future projects. • Attend monthly superintendent meetings, quarterly safety meetings, and periodic training sessions. • Maintain OSHA 30 certification and knowledge of safety standards and building specifications.

What You Bring

Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering and 0–5 years of construction experience. OSHA 30 certification and a strong understanding of building plans, specifications, and safety standards are required. The position emphasizes leadership, communication, initiative, and problem‑solving skills, with opportunities for professional growth toward a Superintendent role. • Demonstrate self‑starter attitude, strong leadership, communication, initiative, and problem‑solving abilities. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering (preferred) with 0‑5 years relevant experience.
