About the Role

You will ensure that health and safety, procurement and administration procedures are adhered to for all waste‑key performance indicators. The role involves maintaining, repairing and installing electrical equipment across a variety of assets, often in challenging conditions, and swiftly fault‑finding and rectifying issues on systems such as sludge screening, centrifuges, odour control, steam boilers, CHP plant and digestion processes. You will also install and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems, complete job cards and timesheets, and take part in risk and COSHH assessments while participating in a standby rota covering Five Fords, Wrexham and other sites as operational needs arise. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, including Wastewater Operations and the Advanced Digestion team, as well as external contractors, suppliers and NRW regulators. • Ensure health & safety, procurement and administration procedures are followed for Welsh Water waste KPIs. • Maintain, repair and install electrical equipment on various assets in challenging conditions. • Fault‑find and rectify problems on equipment such as sludge screening, centrifuges, odour control, steam boilers, CHP plant and digestion processes. • Install, maintain, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems across Five Fords, Wrexham and other sites. • Participate in risk assessments, COSHH assessments and keep job cards and timesheets up to date. • Provide on‑site technical support to Welsh Water capital and operational teams and partners. • Work on a standby rota, covering planned 260 hours and responding to operational needs.

What You Bring

The successful candidate will hold an apprenticeship or HNC in Industrial Measurement and Control, a full UK driving licence, and strong IT skills. The position (Requisition 8406) is a permanent operational role based at Five Fords, offering a salary between £33,364 and £39,403 plus 260 hours of planned working time and a company vehicle. It reports to the Wastewater Operations team and supports the Advanced Digestion team.
