About the Role

The Structural BIM Specialist will operate under the supervision of a BIM Lead or other technical professional, managing the structural discipline model and delivering BIM elements according to the project's Digital Delivery Plan. This role ensures accurate modeling, documentation, and coordination with other disciplines while maintaining model health and adhering to company standards. • Work under direct supervision of a BIM Lead, Engineer, or other technical professional. • Generate BIM elements for the structural discipline according to the Level of Development (LOD) specified in the Digital Delivery Plan and project scope. • Create and maintain the discipline model, systems, content, and overall digital delivery output. • Follow direction from architects, engineers, or technical professionals while remaining technically competent with discipline software. • Accurately model BIM elements using current 3D software and adhere to special constraints of the modeling environment. • Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, and diagrams within project scope, schedule, and budget using 3D software. • Maintain structural model data such as coordinates, scales, orientations, scope boundaries, match‑lines, views, and sheets. • Produce structural documentation with accurate annotations on all modeling output. • Monitor, improve, and maintain company standards and model health. • Coordinate design with other discipline models through Design Reviews and the 3D Coordination process. • Assist or execute additional Digital Delivery requirements identified on the project.

What You Bring

Preferred candidates have prior experience with an architectural or engineering consulting firm, demonstrate an active commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture, and preferably reside locally. Required qualifications include a technical degree or at least three years of relevant industry experience, proficiency with 3D design and coordination software, and strong communication, attention‑to‑detail, and organizational skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, document‑management tools, and an intermediate understanding of engineering or architectural concepts is also essential. • Prior experience with an architectural/engineering consulting firm. • Demonstrated commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture. • Local residency preferred. • Technical degree or minimum three years of related industry experience. • Proficiency with 3D design software and document‑management infrastructure. • Competency in Microsoft Office and communication tools. • Experience with 3D coordination tools. • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills. • Intermediate understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.
