About the Role
The Safety Coherency Engineer will act as the local point of contact for safety management, providing expertise across the function and delivering technical packages that meet programme milestones. They will advise designated customers, represent senior departmental staff, and coach teams where they hold technical authority. Continuous improvement of tools, processes, and methods is also a core part of the role. • Define technical packages/investigations and deliver against programme milestones within cost, timescale, and quality constraints • Apply safety or plant engineering expertise to solve problems in safety management systems • Serve as local point of contact for safety management and share subject‑matter knowledge across the function • Provide advisory services to customers, influence peers, and act as technical coach • Promote and support continuous improvement of tools, processes, and methods within safety management

What You Bring
Candidates should have experience with Nuclear Safety Cases or as a Plant Operator (Category A/B Nuclear Watchkeeper), or comparable nuclear safety experience, and a background in writing Nuclear Plant or Site Safety Cases. Proven stakeholder management at all organisational levels, knowledge of product integrity and certification frameworks, and a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Engineering (or equivalent technical capability) are required. The position requires a Security Check clearance, which will be supported, and candidates must be UK nationals or MoD‑approved dual nationals. • Experience with Nuclear Safety Cases or Plant Operator (Category A/B Nuclear Watchkeeper) or equivalent • Background in Nuclear Plant or Site Safety Case writing • Stakeholder management experience at all organisational levels • Knowledge of product integrity, liability, and certification frameworks • Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Engineering or equivalent technical capability • Ability to obtain Security Check clearance; UK national or MoD‑approved dual national
