About the Role

The technician will diagnose and fix HVAC equipment, plumbing fixtures, lighting systems, pumps and auxiliary devices, while performing scheduled preventive maintenance and timely work‑order completion. Using the Building Automation System, they will monitor performance, support plant maintenance and renovation projects, and keep the work area clean and OSHA‑compliant. They will also respond to on‑call emergency situations and maintain accurate records in the CMMS. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, exposing the technician to varying temperatures and weather. The position involves standing, bending, climbing ladders, and lifting heavy equipment for extended periods, and may require occasional evenings, weekends, or emergency call‑ins. • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and auxiliary equipment. • Perform preventive maintenance and respond to work orders promptly. • Use Building Automation Systems to monitor system performance. • Conduct plumbing repairs and replace fixtures as needed. • Maintain and repair lighting and related electrical components. • Support plant maintenance, renovations, and operational activities. • Ensure a clean, organized, OSHA‑compliant work environment. • Provide excellent customer service and clear communication to tenants. • Participate in on‑call rotation for after‑hours emergency response. • Maintain detailed records of activities in the CMMS.

What You Bring

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to join its facilities team. The role focuses on troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and general maintenance. Candidates should have a customer‑first mindset, be able to work independently, and uphold high standards of safety and efficiency. Applicants must have at least five years of building maintenance experience, including five years focused on HVAC systems, and possess strong knowledge of air handling units, exhaust, IAQ and heating. The ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and specifications, along with excellent communication and teamwork skills, is required. Physical stamina to lift 50 + pounds, experience with CMMS tools, and OSHA safety training are preferred; low‑pressure steam knowledge is a plus. • Minimum five years of building maintenance experience, including HVAC. • Strong knowledge of air handling units, exhaust systems, IAQ, and heating. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and specifications. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. • Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform stamina‑intensive tasks. • Experience with CMMS and digital maintenance tools. • OSHA safety training preferred; low‑pressure steam experience a plus.
