About the Role

The role involves cultivating new client relationships, leading proposal development, and serving as the primary point of contact for key projects. It also includes evaluating, recruiting, and mentoring geotechnical engineers, setting both short‑ and long‑term performance goals, and ensuring the team stays technically proficient through targeted training programs. The incumbent will act as a technical expert, providing peer review, overseeing field work accuracy, and creating client‑focused educational initiatives while keeping staff informed of regulatory changes. Additional duties include representing the company publicly, participating in promotion review committees, attending industry conferences, managing liability concerns, and driving the establishment of new service lines in emerging markets. • Develop new client relationships and lead proposal development. • Evaluate, recruit, train, and mentor geotechnical engineers; set performance goals. • Act as primary client contact and liaison with decision makers. • Provide technical expertise, peer review, and ensure accuracy of field work and reports. • Collaborate with corporate recruiting to attract university talent and attend job fairs. • Monitor and enhance technical proficiency of staff through training programs. • Create client‑focused educational programs and communicate regulatory updates. • Serve as public‑relations ambassador promoting company capabilities. • Participate in or lead Principal promotion review committees for geotechnical staff. • Attend national industry conferences, exhibit, and present scholarly papers annually. • Address professional liability concerns by coordinating with legal and executive teams. • Evaluate markets and establish new service lines, including equipment, staffing, and training needs.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a BS and MS in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution with a geotechnical focus, possess at least 20 years of technical, managerial, and training experience, and have a Professional Engineer license or be able to obtain local licensure within six months. A valid driver’s license is also required for travel on behalf of the company. • BS and MS in Civil Engineering (ABET‑accredited) with geotechnical concentration. • Minimum 20 years of technical, managerial, and training experience. • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure within six months. • Valid driver’s license for company travel.
