Journeyman Electrician

About the Role

Current opportunity: Journeyman Electrician – responsible for installing electrical systems in commercial and industrial construction markets, supervising assigned helper/apprentice electricians, and promoting excellent customer relations by interacting with clients, determining needs, and providing solutions. • Report to the project worksite on time and ready to work. • Apply electrical and construction principles to solve design and modification problems. • Install systems in compliance with national and local codes, staying current with NEC revisions. • Follow company policies while meeting daily commitments and project schedules. • Supervise and coordinate helper/apprentice electricians on each job site. • Load materials, dig trenches, pull wire, and assist with various tasks as needed. • Maintain a clean, clutter‑free job site and treat all personnel with dignity and respect. • Complete required paperwork, including timecards, accurately and promptly. • Enforce safety policies and hold others accountable to safety standards. • Troubleshoot common electrical systems such as services, feeders, and branch circuits. • Plan installations to minimize material waste and ensure future maintenance access. • Prepare sketches, follow diagrams or blueprints, and install concealed wiring before walls are closed. • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install conduit; pull wiring through conduit. • Splice, terminate, and connect wiring to lighting fixtures, power equipment, and control apparatus. • Install grounding leads and connect power cables to equipment like ranges or motors. • Observe installed equipment for hazards, adjust or replace as needed, and repair faulty systems.
