About the Role

The Senior Mechatronics & Robotics Technician will lead a team of service technicians in installing and repairing automated packaging and distribution equipment. This role supports the Operations Maintenance team by designing solutions for complex problems, managing projects, and mentoring both service and contract technicians. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include promoting a safe work environment, maintaining and troubleshooting conveyor systems, leading and auditing preventative maintenance, and installing control components such as relay logic, motor starters, and sensors. The technician will also create and close work orders with detailed labor and parts data, develop training plans, and devise emergency repair work plans while standing, walking, and lifting up to 49 lb during 12‑hour shifts, with up to 20 % travel. • Lead service technicians in installing and repairing automated packaging and distribution equipment. • Design solutions for complex equipment problems and manage related projects. • Mentor and train service and contract technicians. • Promote and enforce safety procedures on the worksite. • Maintain and troubleshoot all conveyor systems. • Lead and audit preventative maintenance programs. • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, motor starters, sensors, and other control components. • Create and close work orders with detailed labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts usage. • Develop training plans for service technicians. • Develop emergency repair work plans for critical assets.

What You Bring

Required qualifications are a high school diploma or equivalent, flexibility to work varied schedules (including weekends, nights, and holidays), and at least three years of preventative‑maintenance experience, blueprint reading, and work‑order management. Preferred qualifications include an associate degree or higher in mechanical or electrical fields, five or more years working with automated conveyors and controls, apprenticeship experience, prior leadership and vendor‑management roles, robotics maintenance knowledge, familiarity with MHE safety standards, and experience using a CMMS. The position demands repetitive physical activities such as bending, crouching, lifting, and standing on concrete for extended periods, as well as working in confined, dusty, or noisy environments and at heights, with the ability to maneuver bulky equipment. • Travel up to 20 % of the time for assignments. • High school diploma or equivalent required. • 3+ years of preventative maintenance experience. • 3+ years of blueprint and schematic reading experience. • 2+ years of work order management experience. • Associate or higher degree in mechanical/electrical fields preferred. • 5+ years experience with automated conveyors and controls. • 2+ years experience with electrical and electronic principles. • 4+ years apprenticeship or equivalent mechanical/electrical experience. • Previous leadership and vendor management experience. • Robotics maintenance experience. • Familiarity with Material Handling Equipment safety standards and OEM guidelines. • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
