About the Role

Mortenson is seeking a Superintendent I to coordinate, plan, and supervise assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities within a specific discipline. The role supports over 50 advanced technology projects, including semiconductor fabs, cleanroom environments, and advanced manufacturing facilities, and contributes to the company’s growth in advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and semiconductor industries. • Plan and implement to ensure all materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule • Review construction and contract documents for completeness and constructability • Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies • Develop and manage project schedules, including three‑ and six‑week look‑ahead schedules • Develop a site logistics plan and lead the utilization of Mortenson tools and equipment • Collaborate with project partner superintendents • Conduct on‑site project orientations, pre‑construction planning sessions, and project site meetings • Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews; interview, hire, transfer, and dismiss craft team members as needed • Coach and mentor assistant superintendents, craft team members, and other project team members • Ensure proper task coding of work hours on timecards, track work progress and craft productivity • Handle craft team member training and conduct career development discussions • Effectively work and build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels • Lead team members by example, provide coaching and feedback, and manage performance • Provide high‑level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team members • Recognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditions and seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction‑related fields or has ten years of trade experience, plus a minimum of five years in construction management. They must possess a valid driver’s license, be able to manage multiple complex projects, and have strong organizational, communication, and customer‑service skills, including the ability to travel up to 100% of the time. Knowledge of construction law, Microsoft Office, and EEOC/affirmative‑action principles is also required. • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management, or 10 years trade experience • Minimum 5 years construction management or related experience • Current driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100% • Detail‑oriented with ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks • Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills • Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills • Active listening, effective communication, and openness to diverse input and feedback
