About the Role
The Assistant Superintendent coordinates field operations for designated areas and trades, ensuring construction work follows the project’s planned sequence and schedule. This role enforces safety and quality control procedures while managing both self‑performed and subcontracted work. Key responsibilities include supervising installation in line with contract documents, monitoring milestone dates, and developing equipment utilization plans based on activity durations. The Superintendent also tracks material deliveries, controls costs, and addresses any budget variances promptly. • Supervise and coordinate installation work according to contract documents, schedule, and planned sequence. • Monitor project milestone dates and ensure timely achievement of critical deadlines. • Develop equipment utilization plans based on activity duration and equipment capabilities. • Track material and equipment delivery dates that affect assigned trades. • Control costs by identifying variances and implementing corrective actions. • Implement and enforce the safety program, conducting regular inspections and hazard recognition. • Maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. • Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lb and navigating uneven terrain. • Respond to after‑hours communications for critical project issues.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold an undergraduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related discipline, or possess equivalent experience, and have at least three years of field supervisory construction management experience. A solid understanding of scheduling, contract administration, equipment, manpower, and safety regulations such as OSHA is required, with preferred knowledge of software platforms like Procore, PlanGrid, FieldWire, Bluebeam, and Primavera P6. This is a hands‑on, physically demanding position that involves frequent standing, navigating uneven terrain, climbing ladders, and lifting materials up to 50 pounds. It also requires visual acuity for reading plans, effective communication, and the ability to sit for extended periods during office tasks. The role entails spending significant time on active construction sites, adapting to varying weather, noise levels, and fast‑paced project dynamics, while also working in a typical office environment.
