About the Role

Responsible for maintaining existing supplier relationships and for the cost‑effective procurement of materials and services at the division level. Support materials used in the manufacturing process and coordinate the supply of MRO requirements. This is a highly visible position requiring interaction with Engineering, Local Operations, and Material Planners. The role requires general supervision and judgment, and may be paired with a mentor. Work typically involves regular process checks or review of output by a coworker or supervisor, and may include guiding junior support personnel. • Execute system‑generated Material Requirements Planning reports • Edit and process requisitions and purchase orders • Communicate demand to the supply base • Track on‑time deliveries • Submit requests for quotations • Report and track daily material cost • Perform cost analysis studies • Reconcile invoice discrepancies

What You Bring

Works in compliance with established procedures and protocols. Identifies and resolves clearly defined problems. Demonstrates skill in data analysis by resolving missing or inconsistent information. Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles. Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. Education and Experience: Typically requires a BS/BA in a related discipline. Certification may be required in some areas. Generally, 0‑2 years of experience in a related field or an MS/MA with 0‑1 year of experience. Preferred qualifications include 1‑5 years of procurement transaction experience in manufacturing, strong PC skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook, and strong organization and tracking abilities. Understanding of MRP, experience with production schedules and material plans, and CPM or other APICS certification are also desired. Candidates should be able to write reports and business correspondence, effectively present information to groups of managers, clients, and the public, and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. They must also interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
