About the Role
The General Laborer 2 role will be responsible for assisting other skilled trades and crafts on a variety of construction projects, including new construction, renovations, and other types. General laborers utilize a variety of tools and specialized equipment, performing duties such as site cleanup, loading, unloading, handling and distributing materials, operating a buck hoist, traffic control and other tasks as assigned. Responsibilities vary widely across work tasks, project types, and build phases, all in support of JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values. • Assist other skilled trades by loading, unloading, and distributing materials as assigned. • Assist in dismantling and transporting construction materials. • Collect and dispose accumulated trash on and around jobsite daily. • Perform general cleaning and trash removal for jobsite trailer. • Clean and maintain concrete and forming tools. • Operate pumps and equipment for site dewatering needs. • Organize and clean conex containers and gang boxes daily. • Perform construction gate duty and flagging responsibilities. • Identify materials accurately and use Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). • Operate a buck hoist safely and effectively. • Assist with demolition operations. • Comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and OSHA standards. • Adhere to all JE Dunn safety standards. • Communicate absences or tardiness to supervisor promptly. • Maintain a can‑do attitude. • Lead by example, instruct, and assign duties. • Assist in receiving and properly verifying deliveries. • Collect and secure all jobsite tools at end of workday. • Perform basic maintenance on equipment and machinery. • Dismantle and transport construction materials. • Properly handle and transport materials throughout jobsite. • Safely perform demolition operations as directed by supervisor. • Perform work accurately, completely, and in a timely manner. • Identify common construction materials and equipment. • Maintain punctual attendance and reliability. • Complete assigned duties with minimal supervision. • Build relationships and collaborate within a team. • Occasional activities include sitting and viewing a computer screen.

What You Bring
The working environment requires the ability to lift at least 50 pounds, exposure to extreme temperatures, and willingness to work non‑traditional hours. Reliable transportation is needed, and employees must be comfortable working at heights, in narrow spaces, or trenches, with frequent physical activities such as standing, walking, climbing, bending, and carrying. • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. • High School Diploma or GED (preferred). • Apprentice or vocational/technical/trade training (preferred). • Equivalent relevant experience may be considered. • Minimum 2+ years commercial construction experience (preferred). • Lift at least 50 pounds. • Willing to work non‑traditional hours to meet project needs. • Require reliable transportation. • Comfortable working at heights, narrow spaces, or trenches. • Frequent activities include standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, carrying, swinging, reaching above shoulder, pushing, pulling, and balancing.
