About the Role

The position requires working on project sites with regular rotations home and can be based anywhere in the USA. The superintendent will ensure deadlines and quality‑control measures are met while aligning project work with strategic goals, timelines, and budgets. • Enforce site and corporate Health & Safety Plans with H&S representative and Safety Steward. • Review hazards, conduct Job Hazard Analyses, and investigate/report incidents. • Perform pre‑task planning and coordinate field activities for craft and equipment resources. • Lead work performance and productivity of crafts and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with rules, specifications, and safety requirements. • Verify accurate time punches, WBS coding, and timely submission. • Interpret contract/scope, alert management to changes, problems, interferences, and schedule issues, and assist in resolutions. • Assist in planning schedules, workforce levels, material quantities, equipment needs, and subcontractor sequencing. • Participate in selection and hiring of project craft personnel. • Train and mentor direct reports and subcontractors. • Utilize GHD’s cost control systems to improve job performance. • Uphold GHD’s Safety Culture on‑site. • Use project schedules to plan and direct field activities. • Recognize scope changes, prepare notices/claims, and understand contracts, specifications, and drawings. • Operate equipment safely and qualify employees.

What You Bring

• Minimum 7 years supervisory experience on heavy civil, demolition, mining, remediation, dredging/waterway, or general contracting projects. • Communicate effectively with diverse crafts, subcontractors, clients, and internal departments. • Proficient in construction scheduling, cost control, and supervising large teams. • Document project activities with strong writing skills.
