About the Role
• Observe and document construction field activities. • Sample, test, and inspect soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel. • Perform calculations, reduce test data, and draft reports. • Operate field screening equipment and record readings. • Read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans. • Communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers. • Serve as the sole ECS representative on project sites.

What You Bring
The field engineering internship provides hands‑on experience on active construction sites, where the intern will support project teams by observing site activities, testing materials, analyzing results, and communicating with contractors and managers. This role prepares the intern to become the sole ECS representative on project locations, offering a comprehensive view of the construction process. • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field. • Demonstrated interest in how building materials are used in construction. • Ability to lift 40–70 lb repeatedly and occasionally lift up to 85 lb to waist height.

Benefits
Compensation is an hourly wage of $16 to $20, adjusted for location and individual qualifications, and mileage for travel to job sites is reimbursed.
