About the Role

Review work orders or schedules established by the team leader, read and understand process sheets or blueprints, and process parts through plating, passivation, or cleaning lines as required by specifications, which may involve fine manipulation of products weighing approximately 10 pounds. Log all procedures dictated by plating specifications in the corresponding log book, including electroplating, passivation, and pickling. Calculate the surface area of parts to be plated or cleaned and apply the appropriate current density, operating measuring devices such as micrometers and dial gauges. Run products through processes using racks or barrels for cleaning, plating, passivation, and pickling in accordance with specifications, and set up fixtures, racks, and barrels utilizing historical data and logs with support from the team leader and lab technician. • Review work orders, process sheets, and blueprints; operate plating, passivation, and cleaning lines. • Log procedures for electroplating, passivation, and pickling in the designated log book. • Calculate part surface area and apply appropriate current density using measuring devices. • Set up fixtures, racks, and barrels based on historical data with team leader support. • Perform basic arithmetic, compute measurements, and interpret bar graphs.

What You Bring

A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing or operations environment. This position requires compliance with ITAR regulations; all applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR. No relocation benefits are offered, and only candidates residing within 50 miles of Beltsville will be considered. Candidates must be able to perform basic arithmetic, compute percentages, area, circumference, and volume, and interpret bar graphs. They should be able to solve problems in situations with limited standardization through communication and teamwork, and possess knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, equipment, OSHA regulations, and related standards. Ability to multitask, willingness to work overtime and weekends, basic computer skills (Windows and Microsoft Office), and the physical capability to lift up to 35 pounds, stand 8–10 hours a day, and maintain hand‑eye coordination are required. • Maintain a high school diploma/GED and at least one year of manufacturing/operations experience. • Comply with ITAR regulations; must be a U.S. person (citizen, permanent resident, asylum seeker, or refugee). • Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, OSHA regulations, and equipment. • Ability to multitask, work overtime/weekends, and use basic computer skills (Windows, MS Office). • Meet physical demands: lift up to 35 lb, stand 8–10 hours daily, and maintain hand‑eye coordination.
