About the Role

The Security Monitor I, Community Corrections is responsible for supervising the facility population, ensuring safety, security and sanitation. The role provides care, custody and control of residents and establishes a safe environment for staff, visitors and residents. • Monitor resident population and report suspicious activities or policy violations. • Conduct resident counts, searches, room inspections, and vehicle searches as required. • Perform drug and alcohol testing as directed by facility administration. • Process residents for intake and discharge according to policies and procedures. • Monitor resident worker activities, provide instruction, and enforce work‑quality standards. • Perform rescue functions during accidents, emergencies, and disasters, including basic emergency medical aid, CPR, and evacuations. • Distribute food plates during late meal service. • Complete pre‑service and other required training programs.

What You Bring

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, with preferred certification in the California Adult Corrections Officer Core Course. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, able to work any shift, and complete required training programs. • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required. • California Adult Corrections Officer Core Course certification preferred. • Complete the STC CORE course within one year of hire or transfer. • Correctional facility operations experience preferred. • Communicate clearly verbally and in writing and apply problem‑solving techniques. • Available to work any hours, any shift. • Minimum age of 18 years.
