About the Role

You will serve as the CM technical lead for strategy, governance, and execution across infrastructure, application, and network domains. Your duties include defining and maintaining configuration baselines for hardware, software, firmware, cloud resources, and documentation across development, test, staging, production, and lab environments. You will operate the CM lifecycle—baseline creation, change requests, implementation, verification, and release documentation—while owning CM practices for GitLab‑based CI/CD pipelines, VMware/vSphere, and AWS environments, and defining standards for network devices. • Lead configuration management strategy, governance, and execution across infrastructure, applications, and networks. • Define and maintain configuration baselines for hardware, software, firmware, cloud resources, and documentation in multiple environments. • Operate the CM lifecycle: baseline creation, change requests, implementation, verification, and release documentation. • Own CM practices for GitLab CI/CD pipelines, VMware/vSphere, and AWS, promoting Infrastructure as Code. • Establish standards and processes for network devices, routing, VPNs, firewalls, and switching. • Conduct change control workflows, impact analysis, technical reviews, and post‑change verification. • Perform periodic configuration audits, identify discrepancies, and drive corrective actions. • Coordinate with Security to ensure baselines meet compliance, hardening, logging, and access control requirements.

What You Bring

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Configuration Management (CM) Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will lead and mature configuration management for a large, globally distributed mission system with a mix of enterprise infrastructure, cloud‑hosted services, and worldwide networks. You will establish disciplined CM practices that improve operational reliability, deployment repeatability, auditability, and scalability across multiple technical domains and environments. The position requires an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance, a bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and 10‑15 years of experience in configuration management or systems engineering. Proven expertise across infrastructure, cloud, network, and CI/CD domains, as well as strong knowledge of GitLab pipelines, VMware/vSphere, and AWS, is essential. International travel up to 10 % and an active passport are also required. Preferred qualifications include proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools and scripting languages such as Python or Bash, familiarity with network configuration management tools, and experience with security compliance, logging, and access control. Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment, are also valued. • Required: active Top Secret/SCI clearance, Bachelor’s degree, 10‑15 years CM/systems engineering experience. • Preferred: IaC tools, Python/Bash scripting, network configuration management tools, strong analytical and communication skills. • Travel up to 10 % internationally; must hold a valid passport.

The salary range for this position is $144,800 – $260,600.
