About the Role

The manager will lead projects from budgeting and scheduling through fieldwork, report writing, and curation, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and compliance with SWCA’s QA/QC standards. Collaboration with other project managers and direct interaction with clients and agency representatives are essential for successful implementation. Safety oversight, including safety plan development and hazard anticipation, is also a core responsibility. • Manage all phases of cultural resources projects, including budgeting, scheduling, research, fieldwork, reporting, and curation. • Collaborate with project managers across offices to meet client and agency needs. • Liaise with clients and agency representatives for successful project implementation. • Prepare high‑quality proposals, work plans, reports, and literature reviews with minimal supervision. • Oversee fieldwork and deliverables while adhering to SWCA’s QA/QC program. • Work independently to resolve project challenges and meet defined deadlines. • Develop safety plans and anticipate hazards to ensure team safety.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field and have at least seven years of cultural resource management or environmental consulting experience, including two years in a supervisory role. Demonstrated expertise in federal, state, and local cultural resources laws, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel for fieldwork are required. Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, eligibility for Arizona permits, primary report authorship, and proficiency with modern field technology and GIS software. • Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field. • Minimum seven years of CRM or environmental consulting experience, including two years in a supervisory capacity. • In‑depth knowledge of federal, state, and local cultural resources laws and regulations. • Proven project management experience across diverse project types, sizes, and regulatory agencies. • Ability to travel and conduct long‑hour fieldwork as required. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. • Master’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field (preferred). • Eligibility for Arizona federal and state permits (preferred). • Primary report authorship and quality‑control review experience (preferred). • Experience supervising junior staff and leading archaeology crews (preferred). • Proficiency with modern mobile field technology, GPS units, and GIS software (preferred). • CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
