About the Role
The role leads the sourcing strategy for GSI NAM projects, working with Regional Commodity Managers to develop and implement plans that achieve competitive costs, effective contracts, and risk mitigation while meeting project schedules. You will oversee a strategic sourcing panel and coordinate with cross‑functional teams to ensure technical requirements, customer expectations, and timelines are integrated into sourcing decisions. • Define and negotiate equipment and site‑work costs for NAM ACS, FACTS, and HVDC projects. • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Contracts, and Project Controls to align technical requirements and timelines. • Ensure supplier quotations, lead times, and deliveries match project schedules and critical path milestones. • Manage master sourcing plan and maintain cross‑functional operational alignment. • Complete supplier assessments, onboarding, and qualifications with Commodity Managers. • Identify supply‑chain risks and implement mitigation strategies to protect cost, schedule, and quality. • Negotiate agreements for external material, equipment, subcontractors, and site works. • Lead firm‑closing calculations to validate final costs and ensure financial alignment.

What You Bring
Close coordination with Engineering, Operations, Contracts, and Project Controls is essential to align supplier deliverables with project milestones and critical path requirements. The position requires proactive identification of supply‑chain risks, implementation of mitigation measures, and adherence to GE Grid Solutions sourcing policies. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree, have at least five years of experience in high‑voltage electrical construction and contracting, be able to travel up to 20% internationally, and have legal authorization to work in the United States. Preferred attributes include utility construction sourcing experience, strong communication and negotiation skills, strategic planning ability, and strong quantitative and analytical capabilities. • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. • Minimum five years of experience in high‑voltage electrical construction projects. • Minimum five years of experience in contracting and negotiation of equipment, material, and subcontractors. • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time. • Legal authorization to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship). • Experience in utility construction sourcing, especially HV electrical equipment and site works. • Strong oral and written communication and negotiation expertise. • Strategic thinker capable of handling multiple projects and driving sourcing strategy. • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
