About the Role

The Associate Engineer II role places the engineer at the core of the full project lifecycle—from concept and design through construction close‑out. The position works closely with senior engineers, project managers, and technical sales leaders to create economical, constructible, and defensible solutions for demanding slope stability and ground improvement problems across North America. It is ideal for engineers seeking field credibility, client exposure, and growing technical ownership beyond desk‑based analysis. • Develop and analyze geotechnical and structural solutions for slope stability, rockfall mitigation, ground improvement, difficult‑access shoring, and foundations. • Perform slope stability modeling, rockfall simulation, mechanical stabilization design, and foundation analysis, delivering clear calculation packages for review, permitting, and construction. • Conduct steep‑terrain site reconnaissance, including rope access and rappelling, and provide field engineering support, construction observation, QA/QC testing, quantity tracking, and as‑built documentation. • Translate design intent into practical execution, adjusting designs in real time as field conditions evolve. • Review plans and specifications, produce take‑offs, estimates, and constructability input, and support proposals and bids with project management and business development. • Communicate directly with clients, building trust through technical clarity and responsiveness. • Partner across engineering, project management, operations, and sales to drive continuous improvement and support R&D initiatives. • Represent GSI at industry events, conferences, and technical presentations.
