About the Role

In this role you will operate one or two pieces of equipment—such as a baler, front‑end loader, bobcat, compactor or forklift—to transport, bind, and facilitate handling of paper and other loose materials. • Sort and grade material. • Operate the compactor. • Maintain inventory records. • Compile worksheets or tickets per customer specifications. • Ensure material feeds correctly onto conveyor. • Coordinate material flow. • Start and monitor baler, responding to prompts and alarms. • Document equipment downtime. • Maintain safety in work areas. • Inspect material quality before baling or shipment. • Communicate with MRF Manager on baling/shipping needs. • Perform routine equipment maintenance, lubrication, fueling and cleaning. • Keep baler wire supplies stocked. • Operate loader, forklift, bobcat, or similar equipment to move material. • Keep surrounding work areas clean. • Unload, tag and stack material in proper rows. • Load and unload trailers and railcars. • Transfer material from baler. • Dump containers, bins and gaylords. • Read loading, unloading sheets and bills of lading. • Complete load and unload tally sheets. • Inspect and grade incoming wastepaper. • Complete vehicle condition reports per corporate guidelines. • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
