About the Role
The senior digital information manager role sits within AECOM’s Energy practice, supporting digital transformation across transmission and distribution, renewables, nuclear de‑commissioning and research & development programmes. The position will work alongside engineers, BIM specialists and client stakeholders to embed robust information management and BIM processes throughout major infrastructure projects. • Lead definition and implementation of ISO 19650 information management frameworks for major programmes. • Interface with senior client stakeholders and digital delivery teams to align strategic objectives. • Establish quality management systems and governance for digital information delivery. • Develop and maintain ISO 19650 documentation (EIR, BEP, MIDP, TIDP) and configure Common Data Environments. • Ensure compliant adoption of project CDE systems across all elements. • Define BIM Execution Plans and coordinate with GIS/BIM specialists to meet EIR requirements. • Manage Master Information Delivery Plans and oversee delivery assurance against acceptance criteria. • Implement BIM processes, including 3D/4D/5D integration and assess digital tools for Modern Methods of Construction. • Support verification of BIM capabilities for engineering, consenting and construction workflows. • Lead development and customization of software tools, CAD‑GIS integration and immersive visualization solutions. • Provide technical support for BIM software, 3D graphics applications and digital engineering technologies. • Design and deliver training programmes and communication materials to ensure consistent delivery standards. • Identify new business opportunities and lead proposal development for digital delivery components. • Drive innovation, R&D activities and maintain AECOM’s competitive advantage in digital services.

What You Bring

The company welcomes candidates with transferable skills and values a diverse range of backgrounds and abilities. • Proven experience managing information on major infrastructure programmes (client‑side and consultant). • Degree in Engineering, Architecture or related technical discipline. • Expertise implementing ISO 19650 frameworks and managing CDE platforms (e.g., Autodesk ACC, SharePoint). • Advanced knowledge of BIM, GIS integration, 4D/5D methodologies and emerging digital technologies. • Familiarity with COBie, IFC standards and data exchange protocols for infrastructure assets. • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and engage senior stakeholders. • Experience with NEC, FIDIC delivery frameworks and digital transformation initiatives. • Chartered status (RICS, ICE, BCS, CIOB) or ISO 19650 Lead Implementer certification (desired). • Commercial awareness in budget management, resource planning and timeline delivery. • Project management certifications (APM, PMI) and business development experience. • Published thought leadership or conference speaking experience. • Specific experience in energy transmission/distribution projects and AI/ML, VR/AR, digital twin technologies.
